Now, what happens here – in this series’ photographs – is that everything happens as if in them our gaze was conducted towards a state similar to the hypnagogic, but existing in the heart of the visible itself. Since – although we’re capable of recognizing in them the signs of reality – we realize at the same time the perceptive planes which wouldn’t normally be visible to us, either because of some distraction or inability to focus our conscience on them. What Navarro does, guiding us to it, is to allow consciousness to understand those threshold states in which perception can feed itself more from what is pure sensation than from the normal elements of a conscious vision. ...
